Compensation: $23.75–$25.20 per hour, depending on experience

Voices of Pacific Island Nations (VOPIN) is seeking a compassionate, culturally grounded, and community-oriented individual to join our team as an Education & Family (Care) Navigator.
This dual-role position supports both educational success and overall well-being for students and families in Kitsap County. The Navigator will work directly with youth through our Navigating Education program and serve families through Olympic Connect, a regional care coordination network.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Providing academic mentoring and tutoring to students at Bremerton High School and Mt. View Middle School
Supporting students with college and job applications, time management, and social-emotional growth
Building strong, trust-based relationships with youth and families using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
Conducting outreach, intake, and assessments to understand clients’ needs, goals, and strengths
Connecting families to housing, food assistance, childcare, transportation, healthcare, job training, and other essential services
Offering consistent follow-up and case management to help clients achieve greater stability and self-sufficiency
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, or related field—or equivalent lived/professional experience
Experience supporting youth and families from diverse backgrounds
Familiarity with K–12 and post-secondary education systems, including alternative pathways
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Commitment to equity, cultural humility, and social justice
Reliable transportation and a valid Washington State driver’s license
Ability to pass background checks required by the agency and partner institutions
Preferred:
Community-based experience, especially in partnership with schools and service organizations
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and wraparound support
Bilingual or multilingual skills—especially in Pacific Islander or other community languages—are strongly preferred
This is a full-time position, though hours may fluctuate depending on program needs and budget. Applicants with lived experience in Pacific Islander communities will be given priority.
