Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Compensation: $23.75–$25.20 per hour, depending on experience

Voices of Pacific Island Nations (VOPIN) is seeking a compassionate, culturally grounded, and community-oriented individual to join our team as an Education & Family (Care) Navigator.

This dual-role position supports both educational success and overall well-being for students and families in Kitsap County. The Navigator will work directly with youth through our Navigating Education program and serve families through Olympic Connect, a regional care coordination network.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing academic mentoring and tutoring to students at Bremerton High School and Mt. View Middle School

  • Supporting students with college and job applications, time management, and social-emotional growth

  • Building strong, trust-based relationships with youth and families using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices

  • Conducting outreach, intake, and assessments to understand clients’ needs, goals, and strengths

  • Connecting families to housing, food assistance, childcare, transportation, healthcare, job training, and other essential services

  • Offering consistent follow-up and case management to help clients achieve greater stability and self-sufficiency

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, or related field—or equivalent lived/professional experience

  • Experience supporting youth and families from diverse backgrounds

  • Familiarity with K–12 and post-secondary education systems, including alternative pathways

  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

  • Commitment to equity, cultural humility, and social justice

  • Reliable transportation and a valid Washington State driver’s license

  • Ability to pass background checks required by the agency and partner institutions

Preferred:

  • Community-based experience, especially in partnership with schools and service organizations

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and wraparound support

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills—especially in Pacific Islander or other community languages—are strongly preferred

This is a full-time position, though hours may fluctuate depending on program needs and budget. Applicants with lived experience in Pacific Islander communities will be given priority.
